“Three key hard materials were used to define the space and accentuate the soft fabrics of the clothing. The joinery was designed with a birch plywood in gentle curves to resonate with the essence of the Casuarina coastal front culture. We embraced the shell of the Commons Casuarina and maintained the raw concrete floor and ceiling. The walls were finished with a textured render to provide tactility and undulating surfaces.”
